We launched HUGGE in 2016 to shake up the bedding industry and offer an alternative to the dated approach to buying mattresses. Testing a mattress for a few minutes in an impersonal showroom won’t give you any indication of how you will sleep on it; you need to actually snooze on it in your own home to understand!
And it was out of this frustration that HUGGE was born.
We used the knowledge gained through our 40+ years’ experience in the industry to develop the most supportive, snuggly mattress we could, resulting in our 3 layered fully memory foam HUGGE mattress. Its sleek Scandinavian design looks great, while its five zoned design feels great too.
Not only that, we wanted to make sure that our customers could really test it out, so we decided to offer a 100-night trial, guaranteeing to accept returns if our customers don’t love their HUGGE. What’s more, all mattresses come with a 10-year guarantee too!
With the HUGGE brand developed, it was time to spread the word, so in June we launched an equity crowdfunding campaign with SEEDRS to raise £120,002. We had high hopes, however, within just 2 days of launching our campaign we hit the target and by the end, exceeded it by 36%!
As a company, we are really proud of our product and are overwhelmed by the success of the campaign, particularly as we ranked number one on seedrs.com at the time and had over 100 investors backing our business and products – a big thank-you to all that helped make our dream a reality
This new network of investors have been hugely supportive, backing our ethos: making better quality mattresses available to more people at a fairer price, and they can see the potential of HUGGE to become a major lifestyle brand, one that can also be found in Harrods!
